artist statement

Sarah Amacker’s artwork is a mixture of autobiographical, observational, and emotional expression. Her paintings are a visual diary investigating her personal identity and experiences as a woman. Amacker often uses her own female form silhouetted or abstracted to represent this exploration of self―featuring glimpses into her own journey in various spaces. Her works often confront barriers, thinking patterns, societal expectations, and serve as a record of her own navigation and perseverance through these arenas as a female artist and woman. Her paintings focus on themes of inner resilience and growth, reflecting scenes from her own life while addressing broader narratives women encounter. Amacker’s artworks explore her sense of self and the importance of recording the female experience.
